LINDSAY, Frank WWI Frank was born in 1896 in Eckington, county of Derby, England. He came with his family to Canada between 1906 and 1909. By 1913 all of the family arrived in Arborfield to get homesteads. He enlisted with the Canadian Army during the war and served until his discharge. After the war he married, farmed, had a sawmill and raised a family of 5. Frank passed away in 1995. No Photo LINDSAY, Fred WWI Fred was born in 1893 in Eckington, county of Derby, England. Fred was killed in action in Belgium in 1915. His name is engraved on the Vimy Ridge Canadian War Memorial in France. No Photo LISTER, Alfred WWI Alfred was born in 1894 in the electoral district of Whitwood, N.W.T. He enlisted in the Army during WWI and served with the 31st Battery Canadian B.E.F. in Canada, England, and Europe. Alfred passed away in 1949. LITTLE, George Burten WWII George was born on August 29, 1923 in Eston, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 24, 1943. He was trained as an Air Gunner in Unit #IORD. He served in Europe and was taken as a Prisoner of War after his aircraft was shot down. On returning to Canada, George married Marge Arque and they raised a family of five. George now resides in Cold Lake, Alberta. LITTLE, James Gibson WWII James was born in 1922 in Handsworth, SK. He joined the Army in July of 1940 in Regina. He served with the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Canadian Infantry Division as a signalman and radioman in England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He took part in the invasion of Sicily and mainland Italy. He was discharged as a Sergeant and was back in Canada in the late part of 1945. Jim joined the Moose Jaw City police on May 11, 1950 and worked with them until July 31, 1983, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. James passed away in September of 2007 in Moose Jaw, SK.
