LAING, Harry WWII Harry was born on December 29th, 1918 in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. He joined the Rosetown Light Anti-Aircraft Battery in 1940. He served in Canada, England, Italy and the Netherlands. While in England he married Eileen Cox of Beckenham. In England, Harry is survived by his wife, two sons, a grandson and granddaughter and one great-grandson. Harry passed away on March of 2002.The funeral service was in Beckenham on March 26th. Some of Harryʼs happiest hours were spent playing ball at sports days on the Saskatchewan prairie. Although he had been away from Canada for over 50 yrs, his coffin was draped with a Canadian Flag surmounted by a baseball and a bat. No Photo LALONDE, Urban WWII Urban enlisted with the Army, 131 C.I.B.T.C. on February 22, 1945. He served in Canada until his discharge on August 12, 1945. LAMBSDOWN, Arthur “Ted” WWII Ted was born in December of 1917 in Tugaske, SK. He came with his family in 1937 to Arborfield to homestead. He married in 1941 after proving his homestead in 1940. He enlisted with the Army, R.C.A.C.D.A. 13th Canadian Army Field Regiment as a Driver on April 20, 1942. He served in Canada, England, Belgium, Holland, and Germany until his discharge on February 5, 1946. He received the following medals: Star of Germany, Defense Medal, King George, and C.V.S.M. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch #203. Ted passed away on September 9, 1993. LAMBSDOWN, Fred WWII Fred was born in 1911 in Tugaske, SK. He came to the Arborfield area in 1938 with his brother. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps on April 20, 1942. He served as a Driver Mechanic in Canada, England, Sicily, Italy, and Holland until his discharge on November 28, 1945. He received the following medals: Stars of France and Italy, C.V.S.M., and King George. After the war he moved back to Tugaske where he was married. Fred is deceased. LARMAND, Felix WWII Felix was born on January 16, 1919 in Zenon Park, SK. He enlisted with R.C.A. on October 3, 1941 and served as a Mechanic in Canada until his discharge on June 9, 1944.
