KARMAZNIUK, Peter WWII Peter was born in Sheho, SK. In January of 1941 he took his 30-day training in Dundurn, SK. He was called into the Army in August of 1942. He served all over Canada with the 31st Anti Aircraft Battery and the 28th A. A. Regiment. He was discharged on September 7th, 1945 with the rank of Gunner. He is married to Elsie and they have 2 sons and 2 daughters. Peter joined the Sheho Legion Branch in December of 1967 and is still very active and does his share at all times. KAZMIRAK, Alyash “Alec” WWII Alec was born in 1922 in Poland. He enlisted with the Army in February of 1943. He served 13 months in Canada, trained at Suffield, Alberta and Halifax. He served with the R.C.A. and the Infantry. He later received a medical discharge in April 1944. He participated in the Top Secret Chemical Testing experiments. Alec passed away in 1980. KEAST, Cecil L. WWII Cecil was born in 1921 in Pretty Valley, SK. He joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment in 1940 and went overseas with that regiment as a signalman and served on the Regimental Command Post in Dieppe where he was taken prisoner on August 19, 1942. He served in Canada, England and France. After the war he returned to Coronach, Sask. where he served the area as a Supervisory postmaster until his retirement in 1978. In 1948, Cecil married Isabel Greenwood; they have one daughter who is the Science Teacher at the Coronach High School. KEELER, John H. WWII John was born in Hazenmore, SK in 1920. In April of 1942, he joined the Canadian Army in the 84th Field Battery RCA. He served in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and the Mediterranean until his discharge in September of 1945. He started farming in the Armentieres District northwest of Whitewood. He married Doris Meadows on October 14, 1948 and they continued to farm until 1975. John passed away on November 11, 2001. KEELER, Robert James WWII Robert was born on March 21, 1917 in Hazenmore, SK. He joined the Army in 1942 and enlisted in the 84th Field Battery. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and the Mediterranean. After the war he worked at Tantallon, Regina, and Calgary until his retirement in 1979 and he bought a home in Whitewood. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Whitewood Branch #87.
