HUDYMA, Oliver WWII Oliver was born in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Army on May 7, 1942. He served with the Infantry and then with transport in Canada until his discharge on September 7, 1945 with the rank of Private. After his discharge he settled on the farm in Sheho. He married Bella Karmaziniuk and they raised 1 son and 3 daughters. He continued to farm until 1984 and still lives on the farm. Oliver joined the Sheho Legion Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion in 1967. HUESER, Lawrence WWII Lawrence was born on March 10, 1920 in Pilger, SK. He came to Arborfield in 1934 with his family. He enlisted with the Army on August 28, 1941. He served with the Army HQ 4th Armoured Division as a Driver in Canada, England and Holland until his discharge on March 6, 1946. He received the following medals: Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, King George, Defense Medal, and the “Thank You Canada” Dutch Medal. After the war he married and moved to Maple Ridge, BC. HUESER, Pete WWII Pete was born on November 5, 1921 in Pilger, SK. He came to Arborfield in 1934 with his family. He enlisted with the Army on April of 1945 and served in Canada and the U.S.A. until his discharge on August 1, 1945. After the war he married and moved to Saskatoon. Pete passed away on September 7, 1979. HUGHES, Albert WWII Albert was born on January 21, 1910 in Wiltshire, England. He joined the Essex Scottish Regiment, R.C.I.C. and served in France and Germany. Albert was killed in action on April 13, 1945 in Holland leaving behind three small children, Valerie, Richard and Percy. Albert is buried in the Holten War Cemetery in Holland. His grandson Kelvin and his wife Karen have visited his grave and witnessed the respect the Dutch people have for our fallen soldiers. HUME, Clarence WWI Clarence enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army during the 1st World War. He was killed in action in France in 1914.
