HEIN, Jacob “Jake” WWII Jake was born on December 31, 1925 in Warmen, SK. He joined the Army on October 13, 1944. He served in Canada until April 15, 1946. After his discharge from the military, Jake bought his own trucking business. Later he worked for the DND Cold lake Air Base as an airplane refueler in the summer and as aheavy equipment operator in the winter until 1983, the year he passed away on October 1st. HENDERSON, John WWII John was born in 1924 in Dummer, SK. He joined the Army in Vancouver, BC. He served with the Airborne until he was injured; he then transferred to NDHQ in Ottawa. John is a Life Member of The Legion and is a Past President of the SK Command. He currently resides in Carnduff, SK. HENDERSON, Lloyd W. WWII Lloyd was born on February 1, 1919 in Rosetown, SK. He enlisted with the R.C.A.F. in December of 1941. He took his pre-enlistment training in Regina to qualify for aircrew. He trained on Tiger Moths, Cessna Cranes and received his wings at S.F.T.S. Saskatoon and was posted overseas. He completed 39 operational trips and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He served in England until his discharge. Lloyd has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #07 for 64 years. HENDERSON, Margaret M. WWII Margaret was born on April 12, 1925 in Huddersfield, Yorks, England. She joined the Womenʼs Auxiliary Air Force in 1942 at the age of 17 and a half years with the trade of motor transport driver.She was then posted to #10 Squadron R.A.F. at Melbourne, where she met her future husband Flt/Lt Lloyd W. Henderson. They were married on November 25, 1944. She served in England until her discharge in April of 1945. Margaret is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #07. HENDRICKS, Benny WWII Benny was born on November 3, 1922 in Kinistino, SK. He came to the Aylsham area with his family in 1925. He enlisted with the R.C.E. in 1942 and served overseas until his discharge in 1946. After the war he married and farmed in the Carrot River area. They moved to Arborfield in 1955. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch #203 and was secretary for many years. Benny passed away on November 23, 1987.
