ALLINSON, Joseph Harrison WWI Joseph was born in 1898 in Middleton, Teasdale, England. He enlisted with the Army in April of 1916 in Swift Current. He served with the 209th Battalion and the 28th Battalion in France until the end of the war and came home with a scar on his right cheek in August of 1919. Joseph passed away in 1972. ANDERSON, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in Sheho, SK. He attended Newburn School. At an early age he started a farm and a mink ranch, he first worked for a mink rancher and then began his own mink ranch. He enlisted with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles on November 2, 1942 and served in England and Europe. He was discharged on March 2, 1946 with the rank of Rifleman. In 1950 he married Julia Romanowich and they farmed and raised cattle until they sold the land to their neighbors. Arthur currently resides in Yorkton and belongs to the Foam Lake Legion Branch. ANDERSON, Earl H. WWII Earl was born on May 31, 1911 in Scotsguard, SK. He enlisted with the R.C.O.C. No. 12 Depot on June 19, 1941 in Regina. He served in Canada and England and later served with the R.C.E.M.E. until his discharge on October 22, 1945. Earl passed away on March 20th, 1964. ANDERSON, Keith K. K. WWII Keith was born in 1923 in Briercrest, SK. He joined the RCAF in October of 1942 in Moose Jaw. He was trained as a Wireless Electrical Mechanic in Moose Jaw, then moved to Montreal for basic training. He volunteered for overseas duties in 1944 and was posted to England with 426th Bomber Squadron. After D-Day, he transferred to 409 Nighthawk Squadron. He returned to England, then to Halifax, and then to Regina, and was discharged in October of 1945. Following the war, Keith returned to Briercrest, SK, and resides there today with his wife Eleanor. They have three children and five grandchildren. ANDERSON, Leonard G. WWII Leonard was born in 1913 in Whitebear, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with the Bomber Command. He completed 34 operational tours during the war and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for the “utmost fortitude, courage, and devotion to duty.” Leonard passed away in 1994.
