HAINES, Robert “Bob” WWI Bob was born on December 17, 1899 in Wingham, Ontario. He came to the Jordan River area in 1912 with his brother to file for homesteads. He enlisted with the Army in December of 1916. He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 190th Battalion in France where he was wounded and suffered from gas inhalation. On February 28th, 1919 he returned to farm in Jordan River. Bob passed away on January 15, 1971. HAINES, Samuel WWI Samuel was born on February 3, 1885 in Wingham, Ontario. He came to the Jordan River area in 1912 with his brother to file for homesteads. He enlisted with the Army in December of 1916. He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 190th, Battalion overseas. He suffered from wounds and gas inhalation and came back to Jordan River in 1919. He married in 1923 and they had 4 children. Samuel passed away in 1942. HAINSWORTH, Charles Parkman WWII Charles was born on November 12, 1921 in Craik, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in September of 1940. He was posted overseas on November 1st, 1942. On December 29th., 1943 he sailed on the S.S. Andies and landed in Scotland. He served in Canada and England until his discharge on September 25, 1945. HALL, Everett S. WWII Everett was born on October 26, 1913 in Nunda, NY. He enlisted with the Army on February 6, 1944 and took his basic training at Barrie, Ontario. He didnʼt go overseas as he had a short tendon in one leg, so he served in Peterborough, Ontario with Platoon # 13 and # 15. He was also in the medical corps as well as serving as a military policeman on the base. He served in Canada until his discharge in January of 1945. Everett passed away on April 13, 1992. HALL, Hector WWII Hector was born in 1908 in Marlborough, UK. He joined the Canadian Army on February 10, 1941 in Saskatoon. He served with the 13th Field Regiment R.C.A. in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe. He saw action in Normandy, the Scheldt Pocket and in the liberation of Holland. In 1945, he married a Belgian girl and remained station in Holland until December, 1945. He returned to Saskatchewan on New Yearʼs Eve 1945. He was discharged at Regina on February 5th,1946. Hector was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion #87 from 1946 until his death in 1975. Hector passed away in 1975. The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 121
