GREEN, Douglas WWII Douglas was born on August 12, 1917 in Shellbrook, SK. He joined the 44th Battery and 13th Field Regiment on May 13, 1941. He went to England where he served on guns until 1942, then went in for artillery signaler. He went through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. While in Germany he was burned while rescuing another soldier, he spent 32 days in a Belgium hospital. He went back to the front line until the war was over. He married Ellen Livingstone on May 20th 1943 and had two daughters, Eleanor and Jeanette. Douglas passed away in 1992. GREEN, Moses WWI Moses was born on November 21st, 1872 in Burnley, Lancashire, England. He enlisted with the 214th Saskatchewan Battalion, C.E.F. on March 13, 1916 along with his son Arthur, son in law Ted Biggs and cousin Harold Farrar, training at Sewell, Leslie and Camp Hughes. He served and was wounded in France and was discharged in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 25th, 1918. Moses returned to farming until selling it to his son Fred, yet continued to take an active part in gardening. Later years Moses spent the winters in Vancouver with his family and passed away on April 19th., 1948 and was laid to rest in the field of Honour Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver. GREEN, Thomas W. WWII Thomas was born in August of 1919 in Shellbrook, SK. He enlisted with the Saskatoon Rifles in June of 1940. Tom traveled Saskatchewan on an army motorcycle as part of the recruiting effort. He transferred to the 13th., Field Regiment-44th., Battery RCA in 1942 to be with his brother Doug on the same gun unit. They trained in England and served in England, France, Belgium, and Holland. He returned to Canada in 1945 for his discharge. Thomas returned to the Shellbrook area to live out the rest of his life. Thomas passed away in 1991. GRESKO, William WWII William was born in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in October of 1941. Because of his medical condition he was discharged on medical grounds in 1942 with the rank of AC 2. He married Ann Slowski in June of 1943. He worked on Lancaster Bombers, C.F. 100 and Arrow, he was connected to Air Craft most of his life. William retired in 1986 and currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. GRUMETZA, Dannie Peacetime Dannie was born in Sheho, SK and attended school in Sheho and Foam Lake. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in May of 1968 and served in Canada until 1971. He served at Cornwallis Naval Base, Berry, Canough Ranger, Ottawa ON, Calgary and Red Deer AB. He is married to Julie Mikkonen and they raised 3 children.
