GOVENLOCK, Gordon WWII Gordon was born on July 15, 1915 in Berton, MB. He came to Jordan River in 1938. He enlisted with the Army Provost Corps on July 1, 1942. He served in Canada, England, Holland, and Germany until his discharge on May 5, 1946. After the war he moved to BC and was married there. Gordon passed away on May 12, 2003. GRAY, Art WWII Art was born in 1924 in Foam Lake, SK. He enlisted with the Army during WWII. He served with the Algonquin Unit in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Art has been a member of the Foam Lake Legion for 31 years. He received the 1939-45 Star. The France-Germany Star. The Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the Holland Medal. GRAY, Don WWII Don was born on June 7, 1919 in Keyes, MB. He came to the Arborfield area with his family in 1932. He enlisted with the R.C.E. 2nd Battalion on February 20, 1942. He served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Germany, and Holland until his discharge on December 1, 1945. He received the following medals: Stars of Germany and France, Defense Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, King George, and the Dutch “Thank You Canada” Medal. Don is a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch with 27 years of service. GRAY, John Art WWII Art was born in 1918 in Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Canadian Army and trained as a motor mechanic before going overseas in 1943. He was part of the liberating Army going into Holland. After the war he returned to farm near Bankend, SK. He served on the committees of numerous community organizations and was awarded the Saskatchewan Co-operative Certificate of Merit in 1994. Lt. Gov. Linda Haverstock presented him with a Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002. Art is a Life Member of the Foam Lake Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. GRAY, Robert “Jim” WWII Jim was born on April 8, 1921 in Keyes, MB. He came to the Arborfield area with his family in 1932. He enlisted with the R.C.E. 5th Field Company on September 27, 1941. He served as a Carpenter in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge on November 29th, 1945. After the war he married and moved to Prince George.
