GIVEREGO, Steve WWII Steve was born on August 21, 1915 in Sheho, SK. He went to Normal School and obtained his teacherʼs certificate and taught in Wolkowitz and Sheho schools. He enlisted with the Canadian Army shortly after the war broke out. He took his basic and advanced training in Canada and was sent overseas. He served in England and Germany until his discharge with the rank of Captain. Steve now resides in Florida. GLIDDEN, Borden “Bordie” WWII Bordie was born on January 10, 1912 in Lockwood, SK. He came to Arborfield in 1933 and took up a homestead. He enlisted with the Army on May 20, 1943. He served as a Rifleman in Canada, England and Italy where he was wounded on August 5th, 1944. He received his discharge on August 1st, 1945. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch #203 on February 12th, 1962. Bordie passed away on September 20, 1971. GLIDDEN, Earl WWII Earl was born in May of 1910 in Lockwood, SK. He came to Arborfield in 1928 to homestead. He enlisted with the Army on October 7, 1942. He served with the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment as a Machine Gunner in Canada, England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany until his discharge on November 2, 1945. He was also a Pacific Volunteer. After the war Earl kept farming. GOERTZEN, Charles Edwin WWII Charles was born on May 2, 1925 in Rosthern, SK. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion, 6th Airborne Division in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He returned to Canada in1946, and in 1954, he married Evelyn Swope and had two children, Debbie and Bob. He was active in the community, serving 56 years with The Royal Canadian Legion, 25 yrs with the Saskatchewan Wheat Board, 21 yrs on the Board of Directors for the Leoville Credit Union and 8 yrs on the Leoville School Board. Charles passed away on February 17, 2003 after having heart surgery. GOOD, Lloyd Ross WWI Lloyd was born on October 5, 1896 in Leeds County, Ontario, and moved to Saskatchewan in 1907. He joined the Army during WWI and served in France. Lloyd was killed in action on April 6, 1917 at Vimy Ridge, France. The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 109
