He served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1942 to 1945. He served with in Canada, on the high seas and in Newfoundland aboard HMCS Preserver. David passed away in 1992. QUINN, John F. WWII John was born in Cardross, PEI in 1923. He served with the Canadian Army during World War II. John is deceased. QUIGLEY, John Nathaniel WWII John was born in Victoria, PEI on August 4, 1920, the son of the late Frank C. and Frances “Fannie” Riley Quigley. He married Hazel Gunning in 1941 and spent the next 67 years in their home in Borden-Carleton where he raised a family of five girls and two boys. He enlisted in the No 6 District Depot CA, the Canadian Army (Active) in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 9, 1944, discharged on March 29, 1946 to return to civilian life. After discharge, he worked as a farm labourer until 1948. In 1948, he accepted a position with CN Marine working his way up to the position of Quarter Master which he held until his retirement in 1985. Following retirement, he enjoyed working in his large vegetable garden until his failing health prevented him from doing so. He died at his home at the age of 88 on January 9, 2009.
