George enlisted in 1942 in Charlottetown, PE where he also did his basic training during World War II. He was posted to Halifax, Nova Scotia with the Royal Canadian Artillery. In November 1942, he was admitted to Camp Hill Hospital and was medically released from the Army in 1943. George received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-1945. George passed away in 1957. LEWIS, Florence Eleanor WWII Florence was born in Cascumpec, Prince Edward Island in 1923 to Harry Lewis Senior and had three siblings: Alma, George, and John. She enlisted in the CWAC in 1943 during World War II and served in Canada. Florence trained in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then went to Belleview, Quebec to be trained as a cook. She contracted tuberculosis and was in Kempville, Nova Scotia then moved to Charlottetown. She received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. Florence passed away in 1946 and had a military funeral. LEWIS, Alma Laura WWII Alma was born in Cascumpec, Prince Edward Island in 1925. She was the daughter of Harry Lewis Sr. and had three siblings: Florence, George, and John. She enlisted in the CWAC in 1943 during World War II and was discharged in 1945. Laura served in Kitchener, Ontario and Shilo, Manitoba as a Private. Laura participated in Bond Drives and was considered the Bond Queen. She received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945.
