Vincent served with the 55th Battalion, 36th Battalion, 86th Machine Gun Battalion serving in England, Belgium, and France. Arthur was killed in action in Passchendaele Ridge on the morning of October 30, 1917, during the Battle of Passchendaele in Belgium. He is buried in Cement House Cemetery in Langemark, Belgium. He was married to Bessie L. Carr. CAMPBELL, George Albert WWI George was born in Wellington, Prince Edward Island in 1895. He was a farmer and a fisherman prior to enlisting in the Army. He served during World War I with the 6th Canadian Mounted Rifles, and the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles during the Battle of Mount Sorrell in Belgium. His unit was in a supporting position in Maple Copse. On June 2, 1916, he was killed in action in the vicinity of Maple Copse not far from Ypres. He is likely buried in an unknown grave in Maple Copse Cemetery and his name is listed on the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres. CAMPBELL, Douglas “Ross” WWII Douglas was born in Alberton District, son of Keir Fraser and Eliza Mae (Haywood) Campbell. He enlisted in the Army on March 22, 1940 and was discharged on September 28, 1945. He served as a Corporal in the #6 District Depot in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.
