VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 17 / 13 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND ARSENAULT, Frank Lewis WWII Frank was born in Kinkora in 1913. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps during World War II, serving in Canada. In 1942, Frank travelled by car to Petawawa with two other soldiers. They did not return. The following day, the body of one of the soldiers was found in the Ottawa River. Later, the body of another soldier and F.L. Arsenault, as well as the car, were also found in the river. The cause of death was said to be an accidental drowning. Frank was married to Grace Rita (Gaudet) and they had four children. AFFLECK, James Arthur WWII James was born in 1920 in Bedeque, Prince Edward Island. Prior to enlisting in the Army, James was a farmer. He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in Canada, England, and France during World War II. James was killed in action by artillery shells on September 17, 1944, during the Battle of Boulogne. He is buried at Calais War Cemetery in France. ADAMS, George David WWII George was born in Bloomfield District, son of Ernest and Sarah (Graham) Adams. He enlisted in the Army on June 13, 1945 and was discharged on February 14, 1946. He served as a Private in the Pictou Highlanders in Canada.
