He enlisted in the Navy in January 1940 and was discharged in September 1945. He served as a Chief Petty Officer in the North Atlantic. MATTHEWS, Alvin George WWII Alvin was born in Bloomfield District, son of George and Jennie (MacArthur) Matthews. He enlisted in the Army on May 15, 1942 and was discharged on January 31, 1946. He served as a Gunner in the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in PEI (Canada). MAILLETTE, Leslie WWII Leslie was born in Skinner’s Pond, Tignish, PEI in 1917. He served with the Army during World War II. Leslie was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Tignish before he passed away in 1996.
