Military Service Recognition Book – Volume 15 / 65 The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command NOONAN, William Basil WWII Basil was born in Albany, PEI in 1918. He entered Navy school in Charlottetown when World War II broke out. He was posted aboard HMCS Huron which was torpedoed in Bay of Biscay and was stranded in the water for 36 hours. After his discharge in 1945, he married Margaret and fathered seven children. He worked on the ferries owned by CNR. Basil passed away in 1969. He was a member of the BordenCarleton Legion Branch 10. NOONAN, Francis Reginald “Reg” PEACETIME Reg was born in Albany, PEI in 1933. He joined the Navy and trained aboard the HMCS Cape Breton. He also served on the HMCS Magnificent and the HMCS Stadacona in Canada and the High Seas totalling five years of service. He was a member of the Legion Branch Borden-Carleton 10 and served as Branch President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President and Ex. Com. He was awarded the Certificate of Merit for Branch service. Reg passed away in 2018. MUTTART, Wallace William WWII Wallace was born in Carleton, PEI in 1919. He enlisted in the Air Force and served in Canada during World War II. He married Jenny May. He was a member of the BordenCarleton Legion Branch 10. Wallace passed away in 2001.
