Lest We Forget / 71 The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command POIRIER, Zenon WWI Zenon, son of Fidèle (Thadée) Poirier and Marguerite Gaudet, enlisted in World War One in 1916. He served in the 90th Winnipeg Rifles L.B.D. and was killed in action on August 15, 1917 at the Battle of Hill 70, on the northern approach to the city of Lens. MUNVES, James WWII James served with company C, 51st Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division, 3rd Army, US. He served in France from August to December 1944. He was given the Purple Heart after being wounded in action on December 1, 1944. McMASTER, Francis P. WWII Francis was born in 1921 and passed away in 1985. He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders during World War Two. He received the Croix de Guerre with Palm medal. He was the son of Bernard McMaster and Mary Catherine (Johnston) McMaster of Bridgetown, PEI.
