Lest We Forget / 31 HICKEY, Urban WWII Urban, son of Charles and Irene Burns Hickey of Darnley, was born on July 23, 1914. He served overseas in World War II during which time he married Rose Joyce Abbott of Surrey, England. They had one daughter, came to Canada after the war and lived for a time in Kensington. Urban died on May 13, 1959 in St. Mary’s Veterans Hospital in Montreal where he is buried in the Veterans Cemetery. His wife and daughter returned to England. HOLLAND, Joseph WWI Joseph was born on November 18, 1888 to Bernard (Berno) and Annie (nee Fay) Holland, of East Baltic. He joined the Canadian Infantry (Nova Scotia Regiment), 25th Battalion, and served as a Private during World War I. His brother, Thomas Vincent, also served in the Infantry in the same war but was with the New Brunswick Regiment, 26th Battalion. Joseph died on September 23, 1918. HICKEY, George WWII George was born to Robert and Hannabelle Hickey. He served in the 22nd Battalion, Royal Canadian Medical Army Corps, in Europe and Italy in World War II.
