Lest We Forget / 29 HARDING, Eldon WWII Eldon, son of John Robert and Minnie Beairsto Harding of Darnley, enlisted on February 22, 1945. He spent some time in Nova Scotia in Halifax and Yarmouth as well as in Aldershot, England. Eldon was discharged on April 15, 1946. HICKEY, Allan WWII Allan, son of Robert and Hannabelle Hickey of Darnley, served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals during World War II. HICKEY, Charles Hartwell WWI Charles was born in Darnley in 1893. He enlisted in Charlottetown in June 1916 and served overseas with the No. 5 Siege Battery. Charles died from the effects of gas poisoning at the Kentville Sanatorium in Nova Scotia on October 1, 1919. The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command
