Lest We Forget / 9 BARRY, Patrick Joseph WWI Patrick was born to John and Margaret (MacIntosh) Barry in St. Peter’s Harbour on June 10, 1897 and lived with Clem and Maggie Sutherland in Cable Head after the death of his parents. He joined the 105th Battalion “B” Company, on January 12, 1916 and was sent overseas where he served as a Private. After the war, Patrick returned to Cable Head for a short time and upon his discharge on May 22, 1919, left for Ontario where he died on September 4, 1939. He is buried in Ontario. BEAIRSTO, Harold WWI Harold was born in 1894 in Malpeque, Prince Edward Island but grew up in Darnley. He enlisted in Calgary in December 1915 to serve in World War I and was wounded and sent home in 1918. BRADLEY, Frederick PEACETIME Frederick was born in Toronto, Ontario where he joined the Armed Forces at the age of 17. While in the Navy, he served aboard many ships, including HMCS Quebec (formerly HMCS Uganda), HMCS Bonaventure, HMCS Cayuga, HMCS Micmac, HMCS Kootenay and many others.
