Lest We Forget / 39 CURRIE, Francis C. WWII Francis was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on January 29, 1923. He enlisted at age 15 in the Canadian Army as part of the Black Watch Regiment and at age seventeen, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy serving on a destroyer in the Battle of the Atlantic and the assault on Normandy, Omaha Beach. Francis passed away on August 28, 2012. DARBY, Gerald B. WWI Private Gerald B. Darby, son of Harry Darby and Bessie Morrison, served in the World War One and was killed in action at the age of 21 at Arras, France on September 11, 1918. Gerald is buried in Dury Mill near Arras. The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command CORMIER, Zacharie WWI Private Zacharie Cormier, son of Sylvain Cormier and Marie Caissie, enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force on February 20, 1918 and served in the 85th Battalion in France and received the War Service Badge. He was discharged on April 18, 1919.
