WWII Private Murray, daughter of John (Jack) Murray and Sarah Elizabeth (Sadie) Sweet, was born in Bloomfield, PE. She enlisted with the Army and served in Canada with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. MURRaY, george Wilbur WWII Corporal Murray, son of Thomas Edgar Murray and Mary Ellen (Nellie) Sweet, was born in Bloomfield, PE. He joined the Army on September 5, 1941 and served in Canada with the #6 District Depot. George was discharged on March 18, 1946. NICHOLsON, alexander WWII Alexander was born in Searletown, PE in 1923. He joined the Army and served with the Cape Breton Highlanders in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and in the Central Mediterranean area. Alexander passed away in 2010. O’HaNLeY, albert WWII Albert, son of Daniel and Annie (MacLaren) O’Hanley, was born in St. Peter’s, PE on July 25, 1909. He enlisted in the Army in 1939 and transferred to the Canadian Merchant Navy. He was assigned to SS Maplecourt and served as a fireman and trimmer. Albert was killed on February 6, 1941 when his ship was torpedoed off the coast of Ireland.
