Lest We Forget / 3 The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command Generations of Canadians have served our country and the world during times of war, military conflict and peace. Through their courage and sacrifice, these men and women have helped to ensure that we live in freedom and peace, while also fostering freedom and peace around the world. We can never thank you enough! The Royal Canadian Legion was organized by Veterans to assist other Veterans and their dependents to ensure that the sacrifices made by their comrades would be remembered by all Canadians. As the largest Canadian service organization steeped in rich history, we have a responsibility to continue doing the great works for which we are known and of which we are proud. However, times are changing and The Legion must be prepared to “Focus on the Future” by meeting the needs of our members and the people we serve. On behalf of PEI Command Executive Council, staff and Ladies Auxiliary, I extend a warm thank you to everyone who contributes to make this War Time Recognition Booklet a success. Through your support, The Legion can continue to develop and fund Youth programs, programs to support our Veterans and Seniors, and to ensure Remembrance continues. Lest We Forget.
