Lest We Forget / 41 gaUdET, william “Bill” wwII (dec) In October 1943, and at just 18 years old, Bill joined the North Shore, New Brunswick Regiment and became G2310 Private W. J. Gaudet. In November 1944, following his basic training at Fredericton, he left Halifax onboard the New Amsterdam. The ship was hounded by German U-boats and as a result, they landed in Scotland rather than the England destination. He relieved Italian troops in Horsham, England and trained at White Cliffs of Dover. He went from Dover to Wilhelmshaven, Germany, where he manned check-points until the end of the War. From Liverpool England, he returned to Halifax onboard the Ile de France and on June 24, 1946 after honourably serving his country in time of War, Private Gaudet was discharged. He passed away on November 1, 2008. gaUdET, guillaume R. wwII Guillaume was born in Leoville, PEI on January 10, 1919 and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on February 19, 1942 and served in Holland, England and France. He was discharged on November 14, 1945. Guillaume passed away on February 16, 2009. gaUdET, Howard Charles KOREa & UNITEd NaTIONs Howard was born in Tignish, PEI on February 17, 1921 to John Charles and Mary Georgina (nee Harper) Gaudet and joined the Army on August 12, 1950 serving in Canada, Japan and Korea. He was discharged on June 29, 1954 and was awarded the Korean Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. gaVIN, John Joseph wwII John was born in North Port, PEI and joined the Canadian Infantry Corps on May 13, 1943 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Holland and Germany until May 30, 1946 with the rank of L/Cpl. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the Italy Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. gaVIN, John Peter wwI John was born in Alberton, PEI and joined the 105th Battalion, the 13th Reserve Battalion, 2nd Machine Gun Battalion, serving in Canada, England and France from May 31, 1916 to May 25, 1919.
