Lest We Forget / 61 RICHARD, John Emmanuel WWII John is the son of Augustin and Theodosie Richard. He enlisted in the Army on April 1, 1943, and served in Canada, England and Belgium. He was discharged in August 1946. RICHARD, Emile WWII Emile is the son of Philibert and Sophie Richard. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in December 1941. He did his military training in Halifax and Val Cartier, Quebec. Emile served overseas in England, France, Holland and Germany. He was discharged in January 1946. RICHARD, Henri WWII Henri, son of Joseph T. Richard and Celina Arsenault, enlisted in the Army in Charlottetown on April 15, 1940. He served with the PEI Highlanders and the West Nova Scotia Regiment at Val Cartier,Newfoundland, England and Italy. Henri was killed in action in Italy on December 30, 1943. RICHARD, Pierre WWII Pierre, son of Joseph Richard and Celina Arsenault, served with the PEI Highlanders for a six month period prior to his medical discharge. ROBERTS, Nelson John Richard WWII & KOREA & PEACEKEEPING Nelson was born in Pleasant Grove, PEI, on January 28, 1924. He joined the Army on April 29, 1943, serving in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He also served in the Canadian Regular Army, Black Watch Division. From May 19, 1951, he served in Canada, Continental Europe and the Far East. Nelson retired with an Honourable Release on April 27, 1966. After his death on December 19, 2000, he received the Korean Veterans Medal and the Peace Keeping Medal. The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command
