Lest We Forget / 45 MACLENNAN, Nicholas Oliver Cromwell WWI Nicholas was born in Prince Edward Island on August 22, 1883. He joined the Army on May 1, 1916, serving overseas with the 78th Battal ion, Manitoba Regiment. He was ki l led in action in Belgium, France on September 2, 1918, and is buried in Dury Mi l ls British Cemetery in France. MacKAY, William WWI Wi l l iam was born in Stanley Bridge on December 23, 1890, the son of Alexander and Marjorie (Martin) MacKay. He joined the 105th Battal ion and served overseas during World War One and returned to PEI with an Engl ish war bride and lived in Charlottetown. MacLEAN, S. Arthur WWII Arthur was born on September 3, 1921 in Breadalbane, PEI and served 3 years and 5 months in the Air Force earning rank of Flying Officer. He also served with the Royal Navy Gunnery School. Arthur passed away on September 20, 2005. MACLEOD, Roderick WWII Roderick was born in the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, and emigrated to Calgary, Alberta, where he was in the Reserve Army. He enl isted in the R.C.C.S. in 1939 and was posted to Sydney, NS and St. Johnʼs, NL unti l 1942. He was involved in the erecting of the “Dew,” “Mid-Canada,” and “Pinetree” l ines of defense for attack from the North. Roderick retired from Service in 1946 and worked for the Canadian Marconi Company in Montreal. He was married to Nursing Sister E. Blanche MacRae and l ived in Brackley, PEI unti l his death in 1986. MACLURE, William M. PEACETIME Wi l l iam was born in Montague, PEI on October 22, 1939. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1956-1962 in Canada and the Middle East (Egypt) with the U.N.E.F. The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command
