Lest We Forget / 37 KUIPERS, Gerritt WWII Gerritt was born in Hol land on Apri l 23, 1928, and served in World War Two with the Police Corps of the Dutch Army. From there, he went to Indonesia and Dutch Guiana. He immigrated to Canada and then to PEI to help with farm work, and then bought his own farm in 1996. His home burned in 1991, and Gerritt was badly burned and took many months to recover. He was very proud to be recognized as a Canadian citizen in 1965. He loved to sing in the church choir. Gerritt passed away on December 12, 1993 and is buried in Cavendish Cemetery. JONES, Thomas Irving WWII Thomas was born in Rosevil le, PEI. He enl isted in the Army as a Private wi th the Prince Edward Island Light Horse Division on February 25, 1943 and served in Canada, Britain and Northwest Europe. He received his discharge on June 21, 1946. KEMP, William Lindsay WWII Wi ll iam was born on June 30, 1914. He served in the Royal Canadian Army during World War Two. Wi l l iam is deceased. LARKIN, Stephen L. WWII Stephen was born on the Fortune Road, PEI on February 21, 1920 and enl isted as Private/Gunner with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders on September 2, 1939. He was wounded in Italy and was discharged on Apri l 3, 1945. LaROSE, Edward WWII Edward, son of Edward Joseph and Lucil le Arsenault, enlisted in Charlottetown in 1941. He served with the 105th Heavy Arti l lery in Gaspe, Quebec and Shelbourne, Nova Scotia. Edward was medical ly discharged in 1944. The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command
