Lest We Forget / 3 The Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Island Command This year commemorates the 90th Anniversary of the signing of the Armistice which ended World War I at 11:00 a.m. on the 11th November 1918. This “war to end all wars” was unfortunately followed by WWII, the Korean War, numerous U.N. peace-keeping missions and NATO operations and, currently the war in Afghanistan. Canadian soldiers, sailors and airmen have always been ready and willing to assist their allies in the pursuit of democracy, freedom and human rights. In this, the 5th volume of the War Time Recognition Booklet, it is our honour to recognize those who served their country and it is the Legion’s duty to keep their memories alive. PEI Command of The Royal Canadian Legion would like to thank all those who submitted information for this booklet and also the support of advertisers and donors who make its production possible. Proceeds from this booklet are used to assist Legion programs, which include education bursaries, National Track and Field meet for youth and the Veteran’s Service Bureau.
