Lest We Forget / 57 MCLAREN, John WWII Killed in Action John was born in Souris, PEI. He served as a member of the Cape Breton Highlanders during the Second World War. John was killed in action at the age of twenty-four. He is buried in Holten Cemetery, Holland. MCLEAN, Roderick Sterling WWII Roderick was born on January 11, 1907 at Lot 16 in PEI. He enlisted in the R.C.E.M.E. on September 5, 1939 and served in Canada, United Kingdom, Sicily and Northwest Europe until his discharge on April 9, 1947. He rejoined on May 1, 1947 and was discharged on August 8, 1948. Roderick passed away on December 4, 1982. MORRISON, Edgar H. “Eddy” WWII Eddy was born on November 9, 1918 in Conway, PEI. He enlisted with the R.C.N.R. in 1938. During World War Two, he joined the R.C.N. and served mostly on convoy duty in the North Atlantic. He also served in the Pacific theatre. Eddy passed away on October 7, 1979 in Conway. MORRISON, Edward R. “Ned” WWI Killed in Action Ned was born at Ellerslie, PEI on October 20, 1895. He joined the Army and served overseas. He was wounded on August 18, 1917. On September 2, 1918, Ned was killed in action during the battle of Amiens. He is buried in Dominion Cemetery in France. MORRISON, George V. WWII George was born on November 25, 1916 in Conway, P.E.I. He enlisted in the R.C.N.R. on February 7, 1938, and during World War Two, he joined the R.C.N. Most of his war service was in the Atlantic theatre between St. John’s, Halifax, and Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He was discharged in 1945 and resided at Conway until his death on June 20, 1977.
