Lest We Forget / 51 MACPHAIL, John Henry WWII John was born in 1905 in Bonshaw, PEI. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and served in Canada and overseas until his discharge in 1946. John passed away in 1980. MACPHAIL, Neil D. WWII Neil was born in 1903 in Bonshaw, PEI. He served the U.S.A Air Force during the war. Neil passed away in 1963. MACPHEE, John Daniel WWII John was born in 1912 in St. Georges, PEI. He joined the 6 th Heavy Artillery and served in Scotland, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium. MACQUARRIE, Willard WWI Willard was born on October 30, 1894 in New Perth, PEI. He enlisted with the 5 th Siege Battery in 1916 and was discharged in 1919 after the war. Willard passed away on October 14, 1970, and is buried in Soldier’s Field, Saskatoon Woodlawn Cemetery. MATTHEWS, Heath Korean War Heath was born in Alberton, PEI. He served the Canadian Army with the 1 st Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment from 1951-1953 as a Private. The photograph, “The Face of War,” is of Heath Matthews. It was used in the booklet on the Korean War published by Veterans Affairs. It was also used on a poster for the War Museum to commemorate the 40 th Anniversary of the Korean War.
