He enlisted in Summerside, PEI in 1939, serving in Canada, England, Holland, Germany, France and Italy. Francis passed away from complication of his wounds on February 14, 1945. WALKER, Charles E. WWI & WWII Charles was born in 1898 in Caledonia, PEI. He enlisted in the Canadian Army during World War One, and served with the 1st Depot Battalion, NS Regiment and the 17th Reserve Battalion. He served with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War in Canada and the United Kingdom from 1939-1945. He was awarded the following decorations and medals: British War Medal, Defense Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and War Medal. WALKER, Frank WWI Frank was born on December 25, 1893 in Charlottetown, PEI. He served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps, First Canadian Contingent and the Expeditionary Force from August 1914 to July 1919. Frank’s personal account of World War One, From A Stretcher Handle: The World War I Journal and Poems of Pte. Frank Walker was edited by his daughter Mary F. Gaudet and published in 2000 by the Institute of Island Studies, Charlottetown. Frank passed away November 27, 1977. WEDGE, Joseph ‘Edward’ WWII Joseph was born in Fortune Cove, PEI. He served the Army, #62 Canadian Army Training Centre as Craftsman in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe from December 17, 1942 to March 25, 1946. WALL, Robert James WWI Robert was born on May 26, 1894, son of George and Margaret Wall of Princetown, PEI. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on November 22, 1917.
