Gaudet Stanley J. MacKinnon Edward S. DesRoches George W. Veno Branch No. 19 - Cardigan Cardigan Branch # 19 received its charter on August 1, 1946 and remained active for forty-five years. With the decline in veterans and increased costs of operation, Branch # 19 ceased having regular meetings in the early 1990’s but continued having Remembrance Day parades. In 2001 several sons and daughters of veterans decided to rejuvenate Branch # 19 and with the help of Provincial Command their first meeting was held in the spring and the following persons were nominated: Claude BrothersPresident, Michael Rice-Vice President, Grace BlacketteSecretary, Alice Rice-Treasurer and George Wilson-Poppy Chair. On April 2, 2003 the following persons were nominated for the upcoming year: Claude Brothers-President, Kenny MacPhee-Vice President, Grace Blackette-Secretary, Michael Rice-Treasurer, Jimmy Quinn-Membership Chair and George Wilson-Poppy Chair.Past Presidents of Cardigan Legion include John A. MacDonald, Len Allen, J. P. Morrison, Elton MAcDonald, Kimball Victor, John Dan Campbell, John Quinn, Francis Sheppard, Alban Brothers, George Wilson, Dan Ward, Josie MacKenzie, Michael MacDonald, Richard Quinn, Leonard MacIntyre. Branch No. 22 - Ellerslie Ellerslie Branch # 22 was awarded the Corporate Seal of the Legion October 23, 1956. The first members were Messrs. B. J. Broome, J. W. Broome, J. C. Mc Donald, O. MacDonald,Lieut. L. A. England, H. W. Grant, C. G. MacKinnon, S. G. Lewis, G. J. Moran, W. E. Oatway, W. J. Palmer, J. E. Wagner, C. Williams, J. W. MacKinnon, W. A. England. The building was part of one of the buildings from the No.10 Bombing and Gunnery School in Mount Pleasant. In 1974, there was an addition of 30 x 100 feet upstairs and downstairs made to the existing structure plus 12 x 40 feet to accommodate a kitchen.
