61 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BRAUSE, Morris Wilbur Morris was born in Hollywood, Florida on October 11, 1954. He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) on August 8, 1974. A graduate of RMC in 1978, he served in all three PPCLI battalions; was the Regt Major and was a Coy Comd at the PPCLI Battle School. LCol Brause was the G3 Ops in 4 CMBG HQ in Lahr, Germany, 1988-1990. He was a Cbt Team Comd of 400 soldiers in Bosnia in 1994. He was the chief of the UN Ops on the border of Kuwait-Iraq for eighteen months in 2000-2001. He commanded E&K Scot from 2008-2013. He finished his fortyyear career in Afghanistan from June 2013 to March 2014 where he was awarded the CEFCOM Commander’s Commendation. He was discharged on October 10, 2014. He is the president of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 in LaSalle/Tecumseh and has been a member for eighteen years. BRAZIER, Charles L. Charles was born on October 20, 1921 in Stratford, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in June 1941 and served with the 5th Canadian Armoured Division in England, Italy and Holland during World War II. He was discharged in April 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Port Perry Branch 419. Charles passed away on July 27, 2007. BRAWN, Arthur Arthur was born on November 29, 1875, in Northampton, England, to William and Elizabeth Brawn. Prior to World War I, Arthur was employed as a machinist, and married to Ellen. He was involved in the Northamptonshire Regiment and Royal Medical Corps for sixteen years. Arthur and Ellen migrated to Canada in 1914 and resided in New Hamburg, Ontario. OnAugust 25, 1915, Arthur enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in Stratford with the 34th Battalion. He was sent to England with his unit aboard the SS California, arrived in England on November 1, 1915 and was transferred to the 17th Reserve Battalion then attached to the Canadian Army Medical Corps, Stretcher Bearer Section (Staff). He was caught in an explosion and breathed an overdose of gas in October 1917, was hospitalized, and released to police duty in Boulogne. On June 24, 1918, Arthur was reported sick, tired, listless, unable to do his duty for any prolonged period of time. Upon examination, it was noted that he had no previous illness. At the age of 46, it was recommended that he be discharged as medically unfit and returned to Canada. He was discharged on March 19, 1919. He resided in Galt, Ontario from 1919 to 1934. Arthur died on August 5, 1954 and is buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Woodstock, Ontario.
