389 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WOOD, Joseph Earl Joseph was born in Chatham, Ontario on February 28, 1900. He joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in July 1943. He trained and served briefly at HMCS Hunter, Naden, Givenchy, Prince Henry as a Stoker 1st Class, Niobe, Stadacona and finally HMCS Hunter where he was discharged being medically unfit for duty due to Angina Pectoris, severe pain in the chest around the heart, and a heart murmur. Joseph died on January 27, 1947, his death attributed to military service. He is buried in Wallaceburg, Ontario. Joseph was awarded the War Service Badge “General Service” in November 1944. WOODWARD, Robert A. Robert was born on September 23, 1942 in Bowmanville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on November 15, 1961 and served with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and the Royal Canadian Regiment, Ontario Regiment, in Canada and Germany. He was discharged on December 8, 1964. Robert was awarded the Special Service Medal with NATO Bar and has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Sir William Stephenson Branch 637 for more than 25 years. WOODMAN, David Frederick David was born on May 25, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario. He enlisted in the Primary Reserve in 1983 taking recruit training with the Windsor Regiment and then serving with the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment as a Rifleman. In May 1986, he joined the Regular Force as a Supply Technician. He was posted to CFB Borden where he served in several second line supply activities. In 1992, he was posted to National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) in Ottawa where he went to school to train as a Material Management specialist. After working in several areas of DG Proc 5 (Director General Procurement and Supply), he was posted to Quality Engineering Test Establishment in Hull, Quebec and finally to Canadian Forces Support Unit Ottawa at Uplands Airbase. David was released from the Armed Forces in November 1999 and returned to Windsor to work for Chrysler Canada. He is an eleven-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Metropolitan Branch 594.
