325 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SIEGNER, Maxwell Frederick “Max” Maxwell was born on December 4, 1918, in Wellesley Township to Abraham and Alice (Chalmers) Siegner along with four siblings, Aral, Grant, Clayton, and Frank. He attended Kingwood Public grades 1-8, graduated from Milverton High School, then went on to study agriculture at the University of Guelph. He enlisted for World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force (Regular Force) in May 1942. Max was a farmer before the war. After being discharged in September 1945, he returned to the home farm located just West of Kingwood. He married Janet Margaret (Hart) and they raised three children, Donald James (1959), Paul and John. He was a proud member of Wesley Horticulture and Historical Society, took pride in forecasting the weather, collected antique tools, and loved to tinker. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Milverton Branch 565. Maxwell passed away on September 26, 1999 and is laid to rest in Hamstead Cemetery in North Easthope. SIPLE, Gerald L. Gerald was born on January 30, 1921, in Selkirk, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939 and served in Canada during World War II. He was directly involved in the use and training of radar technicians until he was discharged in 1945. Gerald passed away on May 17, 1971. SIMPSON, Frank Archibald Frank was born in Toronto, Ontario in May 1917. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Frank passed away on March 23, 1979.
