299 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND RACHO, Wallace Richard “Wally” Wally was born on November 19, 1920, in New Hamburg, Ontario to George and Elizabeth (Eichler) along with two siblings, Ken and Francis Winifred. He attended public school in New Hamburg and attended high school in Kitchener for two years. He enlisted on June 19, 1942 with the Royal Canadian Air Force (Regular Force) and trained to be an aircraft mechanic in Canada. He was discharged on October 24, 1945 and had earned his Stationary Engineer papers and Air Frame Mechanic. Wally married Margaret (Rehberg) and they raised two children, Barb (Brousseau) and Brian. Wallace was a long-time employee of Hamburg Felt and Boot Company in maintenance, looking after boilers and blowing the whistle for breaks and lunch. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion New Hamburg Branch 532. Wallace passed away on May 21, 2001 at the age of eighty and is commemorated on the Legion Veterans Memorial Plaque. He has been laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery in New Hamburg. REDIGONDA, Silva Silva was born in Italy on January 12, 1953. She enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in 1974 and served in Borden, Toronto, Europe, Germany, Baden, Sinai Desert, Ottawa and NDHQ. She was discharged in October 1994. Silva is a registered psychotherapist and registered marriage and family therapist as well as an author. She currently lives in Toronto and has for most of her life. Silva is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 31 Mt. Dennis. RAINFORTH, Patrick Murray Miles Patrick was born in Toronto, Ontario on August 7, 1965. He enlisted in the Army (Reserves) on February 5, 1985 with 33 Service Battalion Military Police in Canada. He was discharged on February 1, 1989. Patrick is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 643.
