165 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND GRAHAM, Cortland Cortland was born on March 19, 1945, in Truro, Nova Scotia. In April 1962, at the age of seventeen, he joined the Army (Regular Force) with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. His basic training was at Camp Shilo in Manitoba. Cortland served in Canada and was then deployed to Germany. After his release in March 1965, Cortland went to work for the Ford Motor Company where he spent the next 38 years. He got married and raised three children. To keep busy, Cortland worked part time at Home Depot and on the farm. Today, Cortland lives in La Salle and is a past member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 and is now a member of Branch 594 totaling 23 years. GREGORY, George Edgar George was born in Lincoln, Ontario on January 12, 1922. He enlisted in the Air Force (Regular Force) on December 9, 1942. He served in England as a Leading Aircraftsman until his release on September 5, 1945. George passed away on January 20, 2014. GREENWOOD, Theodore Edward Theodore was born in Chatham, Ontario on April 3, 1929. Prior to serving in Korea, Private Greenwood was in the Kent Regiment based out of Chatham. He volunteered to be part of the Canadian Army Special Force and went to Korea in December 1950. During the winter, he suffered severe frostbite and was medically discharged in the spring of 1951. He received his Canadian Korea Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and UN Service Medal (Korea). He was a thirty-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28. Theodore passed away on March 13, 2006.
