381 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WEBB, Charles Michael Charles was born in Toronto, Ontario on September 23, 1943. He followed in his father’s stead and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Regular Force) on March 26, 1963, and served as an A/C 1 Instrument Technician in Canada. He was released from service on May 16, 1964. Charles is a twenty-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Bala Branch 424. He has been residing in Bracebridge, Ontario since 2019. WEBB, Fredrick Arthur Fredrick was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on January 31, 1898. Captain Webb joined the Permanent Force Canadian Ordnance Corps on April 20, 1912, in the Boy Service #398 to March 1, 1916. He was promoted to Private on March 1, 1916, and transferred to the Armourer Private on March 24, 1916. He was promoted to Armourer Corporal on January 4, 1918, and discharged on June 22, 1918, reenlisting in the Canadian Ordnance Corps on August 20, 1918, as Armourer Sgt promoted to Acting Armourer Staff Sergeant. He married Mary Ellen Webb in Ottawa and they lived in Montreal. Arthur was promoted to Armorer Quartermaster Sergeant on February 5, 1939, appointed acting Sergeant Major on April 9, 1939, and promoted to Temp Sergeant Major on April 12, 1939. Captain Webb and family were transferred to Kingston, Ontario where they remained. He was promoted to temp Lieutenant on June 15, 1941, then to Captain on January 9, 1942, and Acting Major on July 12, 1943. Arthur retired from the military onApril 22, 1947. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal, Long Service Medal, and Good Conduct Badge. He worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance in Kingston. He passed away on August 11, 1956. WEBB, Charles Richard Charles was born in Rushden, England on February 7, 1913, and moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1919. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Regular Force) as an Instrument Technician during World War II. Charles passed away on August 14, 1974.
