265 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MITCHELL, James Arthur “Jim” Jim was born in Windsor, Ontario on September 16, 1942. He joined the Naval Reserves at the age of seventeen for one year. His basic training was in Cornwallis. After turning eighteen years old, James joined the Regular Forces and went back to Cornwallis. He trained in communications as a radio operator. Jim served with NATO during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His other deployment was on the east coast of Canada. After his release in November 1963, Jim went to work for the Ford Motor Company. He worked there for forty years. Jim got married in 1972 and raised one son. He retired in 2004 and is serving as the chairman of the Retires Committee for local 200. Jim has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 for 25 years. MOAR, Thomas George Thomas was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 22, 1944. He served in the Army in Canada, 1 CF Wing, Marville France and Lahr Germany. From 1961 to 1963, he served with Militia North Saskatchewan Regiment 2nd Battalion, 1963 to 1972 with Regular Service RCAF, 1973 to 1986 with Regular Service Royal Canadian Engineers – Mapping and Charting establishment and from 1986 to 1988 with Militia North Saskatchewan Regiment Pipe & Drums – Pipe Major. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion at various branches including Cumberland, British Columbia; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Aylmer, Quebec; Almonte, Ontario; and Drayton Valley and Warburg, Alberta. MOAR, Jordy A. Jordy was born in Zweibrucken, West Germany on April 27, 1967. He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in February 1986 and served in Canada with 1 PPCLI and 2 CDO Airborne Regiment from 1978 until his discharge in November 1992. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Petawawa Branch for five years and Port Colborne Branch for two years.
