201 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LEGER, Ronald Joseph Ronald was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on April 16, 1931. He enlisted in the Army in 1950 and served during the Korean War until his release in 1952. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Red Lake Branch. Ronald was a resident of Tweed, Ontario from 2010 until his passing on November 18, 2018. LIDDLE, Gordon Leroy “God” Gord was born in Wheatley, Ontario, on February 15, 1923. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Regular) in 1942, at the age of nineteen. His basic training was at Borden, Shilo and Rivers, Manitoba, and Dunneville, Ontario. Gord was stationed in England and became a Lancaster Bomber Pilot with the Royal Air Force. He flew thirty missions with RCAF 90th and 440th Squadrons and RAF 126th and 426th Squadrons. Three days after his discharge on September 15, 1945, Gord was married, and they raised two children. For the next 42 years, he worked as the manager of the St. Clair Grain Feed Plant in Wallaceburg, Ontario. After retiring, Gord wintered in Florida and played a lot of golf. He passed away on July 10, 2017. He was a proud member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ridgetown Branch for 58 years. LEONARD, Danny Joseph “Dan” Dan was born in Windsor, Ontario on August 30, 1944. He joined the Navy (Regular Force) in 1960 at the age of seventeen at HMCS Hunter in Windsor. His basic training was in Cornwallis where he trained as a medic. After training, Dan spent time working in the hospital in Cornwallis and in Halifax. Dan served on the Kootenay in the North Atlantic and the East Coast of Canada. After his release in 1963, Dan went back to school where he earned a business degree. His first job was with the Singer sewing machine company where he worked as a mechanic. After that, Dan went to work for the Chrysler Company for the next 32 years. He is married and raised three children. To this day, Dan is part of the RCNA Colour Party. At Christmas, Dan likes to play Santa Claus. Dan is a five-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Metropolitan Branch 594.
