365 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WATSON, Frederick Millwood Frederick was born in Tobermory, Ontario in 1922. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in Italy and in Sicily during World War II. Fred was named after a relative Frederick James Millwood who was killed in World War I. WEBER, Wayne Matthew Wayne was born on August 9, 1937, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He started his military career in 1952 with the Militia, 49th Field Artillery Regiment. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces (Regular) in Toronto on January 11, 1955 and assigned the Artilleryman trade. After completing his basic and trades training, he was stationed with LAA Regiment in Picton, ON. Wayne served in Germany with SSM Battery in Fort Prince of Wales. His other postings included Winnipeg, 3RCHA Shilo, MB, the Officer Cadet School, Chilliwack, BC and 2RCHA Petawawa. His career continued with the Artillery Battle School in Shilo, Junior Leadership Academy in Borden, ON finishing with 1 Division Headquarters in Kingston, ON. Wayne completed a UN tour in Cyprus in 1968. During his career, he spent time in England, Italy, Norway, Scotland and the USA. His medals include Member of the Order of Military Merit (MMM), Special Service Medal NATO (SSM), Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal (CPSM), UN Forces Cyprus (UNIFICYP) and the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) with two clasps. Wayne was honourably discharged in December 1991 at the rank of Sergeant. He resides in Amherstview, ON with his wife of sixty years, RoseMarie. WATTS, Lawrence Ralph Lawrence was born in Leamington, Ontario on August 6, 1941. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on January 29, 1960 and was stationed in Summerside, PEI with 415 Squadron. He was married to his love Barbara Watts on December 23, 1961. Lawrence received an honourary discharge in February 1966. He was the oldest of three and his father had passed away leaving his mother to run the family business Essex Topcrop, so he had to return home with his family to help his mother. He has four children, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion Kingsville Branch then switched to Essex Branch 201 over twenty years ago. He has now been a member for 34 years. Lawrence is a dedicated and patriotic man who worries about our country and where we are heading. He uses his patriotic rights contacting people in parliament to ask them to rethink the direction in which Canada is moving.
