357 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND URQUHART, Donald “Red” Red was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on January 9, 1922. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Regular Force) in 1940 and served in England and in Iceland until his discharge in 1945. He married Mary Gorman in Guelph in 1946 and lived and worked there and in Midland for A & P Stores. He retired at the age of 65 and enjoyed golf, cards, and Florida. He had a great sense of humour, many friends, and was best friend of his three children. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 80 for forty years. Red had been a resident of Midland, Ontario from 1964 until his passing on April 23, 2020. VICK, William R. “Billy” Billy was born in Ottawa, Ontario on November 30, 1930. He enlisted in the Army in 1949 and served as a Paratrooper with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Westboro Branch 480 for around fifteen years. Billy passed away on April 24, 2004. VERONNEAU, Josée Marie Vivianne Josée was born on September 23, 1980, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. She enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on September 9, 1998, in Montreal, Quebec, as an Infantryman. She went on to complete her Basic Training at CFLS St Jean, Quebec, and Infantry training at 2nd Canadian Division Training Centre Valcartier, Quebec. During her posting to the 2nd Battalion 22 Regiment Valcartier, she completed a tour in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2002. After six years in the Infantry, Josée reclassified to Supply Technician in 2004 and was posted to 5 Service Battalion Valcartier, Quebec. She was deployed to Afghanistan in 2007 for eight months. On return, she was posted to 5 CMBG HQ&SIG SQNValcartier. Josée eventually went on to serve with Canadian Forces Joint Signal Regiment in Kingston, 2 Service Battalion and 2 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Petawawa, Ontario. She completed tours in Dubai and took part in OP Hestia in Haiti. Her medals include General Campaign Star (Afghanistan), General Campaign Star South-West Asia (Dubai), Operations Service Medal-Humanitas (Haiti), Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, NATO Medal for the former Yugoslavia, and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Josée retired September 24, 2018, at the rank of Sergeant. She is the spouse of MWO Kevin Leblanc who is still serving, and they have two sons.
