313 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ROBINSON, William Kennedy William was born on April 27, 1889 in Kincardine, Ontario to Emily (Collins) and Kenneth Albert Robinson. He enlisted in 1917 as an Army machine gunner with the 160th Battalion. After training, William was sent overseas to England and eventually to the Continent to France. He was gassed and according to records was returned to England for treatment. He was in hospital when the war ended and did not return to Canada until 1919 and discharged on July 31, 1919. In 1921, William married KatheenYoung and raised a family of five in Kincardine, Ontario. William passed away on April 10, 1966 and is buried in the Kincardine cemetery. ROCHE, Gordon C. Gordon was born on August 23, 1923, in Luseland, Saskatchewan, to William and Cora Roche, the youngest of six children. He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) on May 26, 1943, in London, Ontario, trained in Petawawa and sent to Red Deer, Alberta. He served in Canada and was discharged on August 14, 1945. Following his discharge, he farmed on the family farm in Fergus. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161 in Bracebridge. Gordon passed away on April 29, 2020. ROBSON, Ephriam J. Ephriam was born in England. He served in the Army with the Perth Regiment during World War II. He was a resident of Tobermory, Ontario.
