299 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PHILIP, Daniel Charles Daniel was born in Toronto on August 14, 1967. He enlisted in the Army (Reserve Force) on September 21, 1984, and served with the 48th Highlanders. He was in the infantry as infantry cook and a small arms coach. After his time in the military, he graduated from Centennial College as an auto mechanic. He is now a thirteenyear member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 in Milton and has held multiple positions on the executive including Branch First Vice President. He has been a resident of Georgetown for 25 years. PICKERING, Wesley Alexander Wesley was born in Nepean, Ontario on January 30, 1918. He enlisted in the Air Force (Regular Force) and served in Europe during World War II. While serving with #5 Operational Training Unit, Wesley was killed on February 5, 1942, when his Beaufort aircraft crashed. He has no known grave. His name is inscribed on the Runnymede War Memorial, Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey, England. He had held the ranks of Flight Sergeant, Sergeant Air Gunner and Wireless Operator. PHILLIPS, Dennis P. Dennis was born in Windsor, Ontario on November 23, 1925. In March 1942, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy (Regular Force) when he was eighteen years old. He served during the battle of the Atlantic and was discharged in November 1945. He went to work for the Chrysler Corp before becoming a Windsor Policeman. Dennis married Pat Hutchins who was also a Veteran (WRCNS). They raised one daughter. Dennis passed away on October 18, 2013. He was a proud member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 for over forty years.
