He served as a Machine Gunner in the Toronto Scottish Regiment (Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s Own) from 1982 to 1988 and Cadet Instructor Cadre from 1996 to 2010 with #75 Toronto Scottish Cadet Corps. He was discharged in 1988. In civilian life, he served as a Police Officer from 1989 to 2020. He also volunteers with Scouts Canada from 2006 to present. His awards include: the Order of Merit of the Police Forces (MOM), Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) and Police Exemplary Service Medal and 30-year bar. He is a twenty-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 643. LAWRENCE (RICE), Marion Elizabeth Marion was born in Ebor, Manitoba on June 21, 1921. She enlisted in the Army on September 6, 1943, and served in Canada with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during World War II. She was discharged on June 5, 1946. Marion passed away on September 10, 1992. LAWRENCE, Howard Moffat Howard was born in Fraserville, Ontario on May 18, 1921. He enlisted in the Army on July 27, 1942, and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Italy and in Northwestern Europe during World War II. He was discharged on February 21, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Peterborough Branch 52 for 36 years. Howard passed away on May 21, 2012.
