215 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HOPPER, Norman John Norman was born in Orillia, Ontario on February 26, 1919. He joined the Grey and Simcoe Foresters to serve during World War II. He did overseas duty, trained in tanks, and served in the 26th Tank Battalion. The Foresters were broken up for re-enforcements and found themselves represented in tank regiments in almost every World War II theatre of conflict. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Forest Branch 176. HORTON, Shella Arlene Shella was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on March 23, 1963. She enlisted in the Air Force (Regular Force) in March 1980 and served with Air Movement Unit Logistics. She served for one year at the embassy in Moscow with her two-year-old and three-month-old daughters. She also served in Edmonton, Winnipeg and North Bay. Shella was discharged in June 1988. She is a two-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 683 in Kanata, Ontario, where she presently resides. HORLOCK, Norman Norman was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 6, 1937. He enlisted with the Canadian Army and joined the Toronto Scottish Regiment in 1954 and was discharged in 1960 as Hon. Corporal, Regular Forces and received his ParaWings. He was an Aboriginal Metis Veteran and was a member of Metis Nation of Ontario Council. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Todmorden Branch 10 on April 4, 1991 and was a member for 26 years. He was a longtime member of the Colour Guard and represented Branch 10 proudly. Norman passed away on May 18, 2017.
