543 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WILSON, Richard “Earle” Earle was born on September 8, 1894 in Bosanquet Township. On November 8, 1917, Earle enlisted with the Army during World War I and served with the 20th Battalion 4th Brigade 2 Division. On April 16, 1918, he sailed to England on the HMT Scotia and arrived on April 28 to Witley Camp, moved to France on September 16, 1918. On October 17, 1918, Earle received an injury to the right knee. He contracted Influenza on December 15, 1918 then transferred to England. On January 6, 1919, he was at East Suffolk and Ispwich; January 28 at Military Hospital inWoodcote Park, Epson; February 21 at Rehab and was discharged from rehab to Witley Camp on March 19, 1919. On April 3, he was at Kinmel Park, Bodelwydden – North Wales and on May 2 he was on SS Cassandra to Canada. Earle was discharged on May 15, 1919 and suffered from what they now call PTSD after his mother died in 1939. Earle spent most of his life in the War Veteran’s Hospital in London, Ontario. He passed away on October 23, 1993 at the age of 99. WILSON, William John William was born on December 26, 1940 inWaterloo, Ontario. In 1957, he enlisted in the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers as a NATO Peacekeeper and Reservist in Canada, Europe, and Germany. He was discharged in 1963-1964. William is a 20-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Onaping Falls Branch 503. WILSON, Stewart Ellis Stewart was born on September 19, 1896 in Bosanquet Township and resided in Thedford, Ontario from 1896 to 1917. On October 1, 1917, he enlisted with the Army during World War I and trained at Camp Carling Heights then served with the West Ontario Regiment 1st Depot Battalion. Stewart served in England, Canada, and France. On July 7, 1918, he was hospitalized with the mumps and discharged on January 25, 1919.
