537 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WILCOX, Harry J. Harry was born on February 15, 1891 in Arkona, Bosanquet Township, Ontario. The family moved to Sarnia, Ontario and Harry worked on the boats. He enlisted in the Army on October 16, 1916 with the 149th Battalion. His unit sailed to England during World War I on SS Metagama on November 18, 1916 and he arrived in France on August 28, 1917. Harry was killed in action in France on August 8, 1918. WILLARD, William Thomas William was born in Thedford, Bosanquet Township, Ontario in 1889. He enlisted in the Army on December 31, 1915 and joined the 18th Battalion to serve in World War I. His unit sailed from Halifax to England in March 1917 on SS Lapland and to France on March 18, 1918 on SS Southland. William was in hospital for gas and shell – four cans were used. He recovered in Basingstoke and sailed back to Canada on the Olympia. He was discharged on January 18, 1919 after being declared medically unfit. William passed away on December 30, 1965. WILKIN, Cameron Laurence Cameron was born in Harvey Station, New Brunswick on May 4, 1936. He enlisted in the Navy in 1957 and spent two and a half years on HMCS Bonaventure, the last Canadian aircraft carrier, out of Halifax, on the North Atlantic, and spent time in Belfast. He was discharged from service in 1962. Cameron presently resides in Perth, Ontario.
