487 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SMITH, Albert Edward Albert was born in Warwick Township, Arkona, Ontario on November 9, 1895, the son of Douglas and Jennie Smith. Albert enlisted with the Army Regular Forces on December 10, 1915 in Arkona, Ontario and joined the 149th Battalion. He trained in Wolseley Barracks London, Ontario serving in Canada. He was discharged in July 1916, due to being medically unfit and resided inWest Williams Township. Albert passed away in 1979 and buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery London, Ontario. SMITH, Charles Henry Dwight Charles was born on November 18, 1893 in Bosanquet Township, Thedford, Ontario. He worked on the family farm when he enlisted on January 13, 1916 during World War I. Charles trained in Canada, arrived in England at Camp Bramshott on March 7, 1917, and sailed on the SS Lapland. Charles served with the 2nd Battalion in France for nineteen months. He was hospitalized three times with a sickness and Charles returned to Canada being discharged on May 27, 1919. Charles passed away in 1973 and is buried at Pinehill Cemetery. SMITH, Angus Angus was born on August 21, 1890 in Stokes Bay, Ontario. He enlisted on August 6, 1916 with the Army Regular Force joining the 49th Battalion. Angus served in Belgium and Holland. On October 30, 1917, Angus was killed in action in Belgium at the age of 27 and is buried at Menin Gate Memorial.
