475 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SHEFF, John Joseph John was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario on January 12, 1917. He enlisted in the Navy on June 12, 1941 and served with the RCNVR in the North Atlantic on HMCS St. Clair and HMCS Red Deer during World War II. He was discharged on September 28, 1945. He was a 65-year member of The Royal Canadian Wallaceburg Legion Branch 18. John passed away on January 21, 2012. SHELSON, Ross Jeffrey Ross was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on November 28, 1956. He enlisted in September 1980 in London, Ontario and got his basic training at CFB Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. He was then transferred to CFB Borden for his initial course as an Airframe Tech. Upon completion of the course, he was transferred to CFB Comox, in 1981 joining 409 Squadron, where he serviced aircrafts such as CF 101 Voodoos. In 1984, Ross was again transferred to CFB Uplands, Ottawa where he became part of the Base Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Organization (BAMEO), servicing aircrafts such as: the CC117 Falcon, CC190 Cosmopolitan and CC 144 Challenger. In 1990, he was transferred to CFB Trenton, attached to 8 AMS (Air Maintenance Sqn.), again with BAMEO, servicing the CC130 Hercules, CC137, and Boeing 707. Ross spent thirteen years there and was discharged on October 1, 2003. During his career, Ross spent time in Canada and Europe. Ross continues to reside in Tillsonburg, Ontario. SHEFF, Michael Kevin Michael was born in Barrie, Ontario on July 12, 1963. He enlisted in the Army on April 12, 1986 and served with 2RCA, 4 Field Amb, 1CDHSR, PPCLI in Petawawa, Kingston, Borden, Edmonton and Lahr, Germany. He served in Peacekeeping duties throughout his career in UNIMOG, UNPROFOR, UNAMIR and ROTO II and PRT Kandahar. He also taught at the CFSAL in CFB Borden. Michael was discharged on April 11, 2007.
